It was released in September 2000 as the third and last single from Allan's 1999 album Smoke Rings in the Dark. The song reached number 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Tracks and Singles chart in June 2001, thus becoming his first Top 5 hit and his third Top 10.
