John Goodwin was an English lawyer and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various time between 1641 and 1660. He supported the Parliamentary cause in the English Civil War. Goodwin was the son of Edward Goodwin of Horne, Surrey and his wife Susan Wallop, daughter of Richard Wallop of Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire. He entered Inner Temple in 1622 and was called to the bar in 1630. In 1641, Goodwin was elected Member of Parliament for Haslemere in the Long Parliament. In 1643 he was commi
