Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro is a Spanish racing driver, currently competing in Formula One for Ferrari. Born in Madrid, Sainz is the son of rally driver Carlos Sainz Sr., who is a two-time World Rally Champion. Graduating from karting to junior formulae in 2010, Sainz won his first championship at the 2011 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup. After racing in British Formula 3, the Formula 3 Euro Series and FIA European Formula 3 with Carlin Motorsport in 2012, Sainz moved up to the GP3
