text: Wright & Sanders was an American architectural firm. It was established in 1858 in Victoria, British Columbia, by John Wright, the first professional architect to practice in the province. In 1861 Wright formed the partnership of Wright & Sanders with George H. Sanders; they moved to San Francisco in 1867. Wright retired from practice in 1895, followed by Sanders c. 1906, about the time the firm's office, and much of the its built work, was destroyed by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The fir
