text: There have been three baronetcies created for persons with the surname Wilmot, one in the Baronetage of Ireland and two in the Baronetage of Great Britain. One creation is extant as of 2008. The Wilmot Baronetcy, of Witney in the County of Oxford, was created in the Baronetage of Ireland on 1 October 1621 for Arthur Wilmot. The title became extinct on his death in 1629. He lived at Wield, Hampshire and was uncle of Charles, Viscount Wilmot to whom he left most of his estate, while also providing
