text: William Morris was an English cricketer who played in two first-class cricket matches for Kent County Cricket Club in 1896. Morris was born in 1873 at Lee in Blackheath, at that point part of Kent. His father, also William, was a solicitor and Morris followed him into the profession after attending St Mark's School in Windsor. Playing his club cricket for Granville Cricket Club, Morris was a "prolific" batsman who scored nine centuries for the club between 1894 and 1899, including a score of 235
