William H. Boner was a Washington State politician and lumber businessman. He served as a South Bend councilman for six years and was elected mayor several times. Boner dedicated the majority of his life to the lumber business. After college, he established his own retail lumber yard in Milan, Missouri, but later took a position in the Excelsior Lumber Company. In 1889, Boner came to the Pacific coast and worked for the Northwestern Lumber Company, first in Hoquiam, Washington, and then in charg
