William Gilbert Foster was a British painter. Senior member of the Staithes group of artists, he had a studio at Runswick Bay for many years. He painted landscapes and rural genre in oil and watercolours. Exhibited regularly at the British Royal Academy of Arts and at the Royal society of British.
