text: Vittoria has been the name of several vessels: Victoria (ship), was a Spanish carrack and the first ship to circumnavigate the world. British vessels launched in 1813 or shortly thereafter with the name Vittoria were probably named for General Wellington's victory over the French at the Battle of Vitoria. Adriatic (1811 ship) was launched in 1811 in the United States. The British Royal Navy seized her in July 1812. She was sold in 1813 and her new owners named her Vittoria. She traded with the W
