Vitebsk Region, also known as Vitebsk Oblast or Vitsyebsk Voblasts, is one of the regions of Belarus. Its administrative center is Vitebsk. It is located in the north of the country, and borders on Russia. As of 2019 the region had a population of 1,135,731 and the lowest population-density for any region in Belarus: 30.6 p/km². Important cities within the region include Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk.
