USS Cassin Young (DD-793) is a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy named for Captain Cassin Young (1894–1942), who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism at the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and killed in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in the fall of 1942. Cassin Young (DD-793) was launched 12 September 1943 by Bethlehem Shipbuilding, San Pedro, Los Angeles; sponsored by Mrs. Eleanor Young; and commissioned on 31 December 1943.
