text: Urbain Héroux was a French-Canadian employee of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC), stationed primarily in the Pacific Northwest in the 1830s and 1840s. Héroux was born in Pointe-du-Lac in Lower Canada and baptized in nearby Trois-Rivières. The claim that he was Iroquois is contradicted by the documentary evidence.
