The Ultra Low Delay Audio Coder (ULD) is a development of the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (IDMT), which is headed by one of the fathers of MP3, Karlheinz Brandenburg, and of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS).
