text: Trichothelium kalbii is a species of corticolous (bark-dwelling), crustose lichen in the family Porinaceae. It was formally described as a new species in 2004 by Robert Lücking. The lichen is named in honour of lichenologist Klaus Kalb, who has made significant contributions to the study of tropical lichens.
