Thomas Oates Hardin was an airline executive and a United States Air Force (USAF) major general who commanded the India-China Wing of the Air Transport Command (ATC) in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. As such he directed flights over the Hump. He helped found Southern Air Transport, which became part of American Airlines. Between 1938 and 1940 he was a member of the Air Safety Board.
