text: The Great History of Troy tapestries are a series of eleven tapestries woven in Flanders around 1475 which were hung in the Painted Chamber of Westminster Palace. Each tapestry "contained two or three episodes taken from the 'Roman de Troie' by Benoit de Saint-More." In 1789, notable architects including Robert Adam, James Wyatt, and George Dance the Younger recommended rebuilding Westminster and consequently the tapestries were sold in 1820 for £10 to one Charles Yarnold.
