text: The 140th Boat Race took place on 26 March 1994. Held annually, the Boat Race is a side-by-side rowing race between crews from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge along the River Thames. Cambridge won by 6+1⁄2 lengths. The race saw the first competitors from Norway in the history of the race, in brothers Snorre and Sverke Lorgen.
