text: The Thanumalayan Temple ताणुमालयन मन्दिर, also called Sthanumalayan Temple स्थाणुमालयन=स्थाणु+माल्+अयन् मन्दिर, is an important Hindu temple located in Suchindram शुचीन्द्रम in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. The Thanumalayan Temple is of importance to both Shaivaite and Vaishnavite sects of Hinduism, as the name Stanumalaya denotes the Trimurti; "Stanu" means Mahesha; "Mal" means Vishnu; and the "Ayan" means Brahma. It counts among the Abhimana Kshetrams in Vaishnavite traditions
