Taeniatherum is a genus of Eurasian and North African plants in the grass family. The only recognized species is medusahead which is native to southern and central Europe, North Africa, and Asia. It is also naturalized in southern Australia, Chile, and parts of North America. This aggressive winter annual grass is changing the ecology of western rangelands in North America.
