text: Theophilus Lincoln Norval was a justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court from 1890 to 1902, serving as chief justice from 1894 to 1896, and again from 1900 to 1902. Born in London Mills, Fulton County, Illinois, Norval received his early education in the common schools of that state. Norval "began reading law at 20 while teaching school", and was "an honor graduate of the University of Michigan in 1871". When he was 25 years of age he decided to move west, choosing Nebraska as his destination. In M
