Steven Jay Schwartz is a professor of space physics at Imperial College London. He was awarded the Chapman Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 2006 "in recognition of his pioneering work in solar terrestrial physics and space plasma physics". In 2009, he became the head of the Space and Atmospheric Physics Group at Imperial College London. In 2017 Schwartz won the Institute of Physics Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin Medal and Prize.
