It is one of the oldest churches in Mablethorpe and Sutton parish of East Lindsey along with St Mary's Church in Mablethorpe. The tower was built in 1606, elements of the chancel arch are 14th-century, and the octagonal font is dated as c.1400. As a Grade II listed church remains an active place of worship and serves as a vital community hub.
