text: St Patrick's Cathedral is the Roman Catholic cathedral church of the Diocese of Ballarat and seat of Bishop Paul Bird. The cathedral is located in the provincial city of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. The cathedral was built between 1857 and 1871 designed by local architects Shaw and Dowden, based on a design of English architect Charles Hansom. The cathedral was listed on the Victorian Heritage Register on 3 March 1994.
