Urban two-way streets are usually zoned at 40 km/h (25 mph) or less. The highest speed limit in Japan is 120 km/h (75 mph) on sections of Shin-Tōmei Expressway (E1A) and Tōhoku Expressway (E4), and expressways in the Kantō Plain leading to Tokyo.
