Sophia Marsham, Countess of Romney, formerly Sophia Pitt, was the first wife of Charles Marsham, 2nd Earl of Romney. She was the only daughter of William Morton Pitt, MP (a relation of William Pitt the Elder, and his first wife, the former Margaret Gambier. She married the future earl on 9 September 1806 when he was still known as Viscount Romney. They had one son and four daughters: Lady Sophia Marsham, who married Peter Richard Hoare and had children
