The small angle shades is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is distributed throughout the Palearctic. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1758 10th edition of Systema Naturae. As the common name suggests, this species is closely related to the angle shades, and is considerably smaller, but does not especially resemble that species.
