Slobozhanske is a rural settlement in Krasnohrad Raion of Kharkiv Oblast in Ukraine. It is located in the middle of the steppe, approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Krasnohrad. Slobozhanske belongs to Kehychivka settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 2,605. The settlement was called Chapaeve until 2016, in honour of Vasily Chapayev. On 5 February 2016, Verkhovna Rada adopted decision to rename Chapaeve to Slobozhanske according to the law prohibiting names of Communi
