Skålvær are a group of islands in the municipality of Alstahaug in Nordland county, Norway. The islands are located in the western part of Alstahaug, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northwest of the island of Tjøtta, just west of the southern tip of the island of Altra, and about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of the village of Silvalen. The islands were formerly a part of Vega Municipality, but in 1971 it was transferred to Alstahaug. Skålvær was once a thriving trading post and had many residents,
