Sitalá is a town and municipality in the Mexican state of Chiapas in southern Mexico. It is, lamentably, one of the poorest municipalities of Chiapas and Mexico. As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 12,269, up from 7,959 as of 2005. It covers an area of 178.9 km². As of 2010, the town of Sitalá had a population of 1,738.
