text: Sir John Dutton, 2nd Baronet (1684–1743), of Sherborne, Gloucestershire, was a British landowner and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1727 to 1734. Dutton was baptized on 2 January 1684, the eldest surviving son of Sir Ralph Dutton, 1st Baronet MP of Sherborne and his second wife Mary Barwick, daughter of Peter Barwick of London, who was physician in ordinary to Charles II. He was admitted at Middle Temple in 1701 at the expense of his grandfather, since his father had wasted away
