The son of Sir George Clark, 2nd Baronet, of Dunlambert, Clark studied at Canford School before becoming a farmer and company director. At the 1938 Northern Ireland general election, he was elected for the Ulster Unionist Party in Belfast Dock, although he lost his seat at the 1945 general election.
