title: Single-rope technique
text: Single-rope technique (SRT) is a set of methods used to descend and ascend on the same single rope. Single-rope technique is used in caving, potholing, rock climbing, canyoning, roped access for building maintenance and by arborists for tree climbing, although to avoid confusion in the tree climbing community, many have taken to calling it "stationary" rope technique. Single-rope technique is used in contrast to double-rope technique (DRT), also known as moving-rope technique.
