Sicco van Goslinga was a nobleman and politician who served as a field deputy of the States-General of the Dutch Republic in the Dutch States Army. During 1706-1709 and 1711 he served alongside John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough during his campaigns in Flanders in the War of the Spanish Succession. His memoirs form an important source of information for historians of the period.
