Shellow Bowells is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Willingale, in the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. It is situated 6 miles (10 km) to the west of Chelmsford, between the villages of Willingale on its westerly border and Roxwell on its east. In 1931 the civil parish had a population of 95. On 1 April 1946 the parish was abolished to form Willingale. The village name is believed to be derived from Shellow, meaning a bend in the river, and the Beaulieu family. Th
