Founded in 1987 as the pre-Olympics event of the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, the Sea Art Festival was held annually until 1995. After its eighth edition in 1995, it got integrated with the Busan Biennale from 2000 to 2010. The Sea Festival has been known to utilize the sea, the natural environment, as exhibition space, showcasing site-specific installations, and in 2006, the exhibition began to manifest the flux and discourse of contemporary art, not limiting itself to only outdo
