Scott Ryan is an Australian actor and writer who wrote and starred in the FX series Mr Inbetween and the film The Magician, which he also directed. Ryan grew up in Hallam and moved to Richmond at age 17. He began writing in his 20s and studied filmmaking at RMIT, self-funding 2003's The Magician with $3,000. Nash Edgerton became involved with Ryan after seeing The Magician at the St Kilda Film Festival, later producing a feature-length cut that saw further success in 2005. Edgerton and Ryan pitc
