text: Schizophonic is the debut solo studio album by British pop singer Geri Halliwell. The album was released in June 1999, after her 1998 split from popular girl group the Spice Girls. The term schizophonic is a portmanteau of the Greek words schizo and phonic ("sound"), and also seemingly a play on the word "schizophrenic" and the musical term "schizophonia".
