text: Saraiki is a contemporary designation for the multi-ethnic speakers of the Saraiki language variety, spoken in the southwest of the Pakistani province of Punjab and neighbouring regions on the borders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh. The Saraiki people follow many religions, though most are predominantly followers of Sunni Islam. A small minority of Saraikis follow Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, many Hindus and Sikhs migrated to India
