The Sanremo Music Festival 1972, officially the 22nd Italian Song Festival, was the 22nd annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Sanremo Casino in Sanremo between 24 and 26 February 1972. It was broadcast by Programma Nazionale and was the last edition to be broadcast in black and white. The festival was aired on Chile's Canal 13, in a delayed two-part broadcast on 1-2 March, and also on Japan's NHK, in a delayed broadcast on 20 May. The show was presented by Mike Bongiorno, assisted by actor
