Samuel Barker Amidon was an American lawyer, politician, and philanthropist who served as county attorney of Sedgwick County, Kansas from 1897 to 1901, and later as the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee from 1919 until his death in 1925. A staunch Democrat and close personal friend of President Woodrow Wilson, Amidon served as a delegate to every Democratic National Convention from 1888 to 1924, and delivered the successful motion to nominate James M. Cox as the 1920 Democratic nom
