His highest rank has been maegashira 1. He has been a runner-up in one tournament, and has won two special prizes for Fighting Spirit and one gold star for defeating a yokozuna. Having started his career in 2003, Sadanoumi is the sekitori-ranked wrestler with the most tournaments to his name.
