Ryota Matsumoto is a Japanese artist and media theorist. He was born in Tokyo, Japan. He had been an adjunct lecturer at the Transart Institute for Creative Reseach from 2016 to 2018 and is a research associate at the New Centre of Reseach and Practice. He is known as the theorist of the postdigital art movement. He received a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 after his undergraduate studies in art and design theory at the Architectural Association in Lond
