text: Rudna is a village in Lubin County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Rudna. It lies approximately 14 kilometres (9 mi) north of Lubin and 69 km (43 mi) north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The village was originally called Nowa Ruda - Old Polish ruda meaning ore⁣ – to distinguish it from the neighbouring small village of Stara Rudna.
