Arthur Roy Ainslie is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2014 and before that in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature from 1994 to 1999. Ainslie has a bachelor's degree from the University of Cape Town. During apartheid, he was active in liberal white political organisations, first as a leader of the National Union of South African Students (Nusas) in the 1970s and then as a member of the Democratic Party.
