Roman Sembratovych was a Ukrainian journalist and publicist. He was born in Monastyrtsi, Lisko Powiat, Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, Austria-Hungary. While a student in Vienna he became active in different Ukrainian societies such as the student society Sich. He published articles about the situation for the Ukrainian nation in several newspapers such as Frankfurter Zeitung. In 1901 he was the editor of the German-language periodical X-Strahlen and 1903–1905 he was the main editor of the new
