Robert Russell Bensley was a Canadian physiologist and medical researcher. He was among the first to recognized the secretory function of the Islets of Langerhans. He also developed techniques for the separation of mitochondria by centrifugation. Bensley was born in Hamilton, Ontario to a family of English and Irish origins.
