Kundu River basin or catchment area is called Renadu i.e., River Kundu flowing area is called as Renadu. This region was ruled by Telugu Cholas of Renadu and Pottapi from late 5th century CE to 11th century CE. Kundu River starts at Uppalapadu Village of Orvakal Mandal in nandyal District.
