Ray Baughman is an American chemist and academic, currently holding the Robert A. Welch Distinguished Chair in Chemistry and serving as the Director of the Alan G. MacDiarmid NanoTech Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas. He earned his B.S. in physics from Carnegie Mellon University and his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Harvard University.
