Rashmi C. Desai is an Indian-American physicist, professor emeritus of physics at the University of Toronto. He first studied physics at the University of Mumbai, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1957. He worked as a scientific officer at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai, India, from 1957 to 1962. He then moved to the US and earned a Ph.D from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, in 1966 before working as a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technol
