text: Rancho Pescadero was a 35,546-acre (143.85 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day San Joaquin County, California and Alameda County, California given in 1843 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Antonio María Pico. Pescadero means "the fishery" or "the place to fish" in Spanish. The grant encompassed present-day Tracy.
